The first year has gone by fast and now that we're settled into both the new home and the baby, it's appropriate to take a few minutes to say thanks for a job well done. We would also like to let anyone considering a home here in Sandy Ridge to know that it's been a great experience and great place to live.

We started our search cutting about a forth mile swath through the countryside marching through countless developments. Each time we left one we always found a "showstopper" reason not to return. Undaunted we kept searching until Ranae found Sandy Ridge.

Many things drew us to Sandy Ridge including all the standard buzz words and promises: upscale, customer, differing designs (no cookie-cutter look), rural and wooded, small town feel, close proximity to amenities, solid educational base, family atmosphere, walk-able neighborhood, growing property value, quality construction, builder reputation, and golf course.

What we have in the end was all that and much more. You are doing a great job realizing the Sandy Ridge dream. The first year has been a very good one, the new house turned out great, was delivered on time, and we have many new friends, including Holly and Curt.

The whole process of lot selection, home design, options selection and construction was painless with everything turning out the way it was planned.  Our thanks to Holly and Curt for all your hard work, and congratulations on your continued success here. Please send perspective buyers our way as a reference. We'll be happy to share our experience with them.

~Best Regards,

Karen and I had no plans on leaving Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. I had been a member at Sterling Country Club for the past seven years and had heard the buzz about the new neighborhood being built adjacent to the club. I decided this past spring to take a quick ride around Sandy Ridge Road during a rain delay waiting to play golf. The first thing I noticed was the beauty of this neighborhood. New homes built on lots with tall majestic pine trees surrounding them, the lots weren't clear cut like every other builder typically does when they clear a home lot these days. I drove a few houses into the new neighborhood and I immediately fell in love with the model home that was for sale. A white stucco accented with red cedar exterior with fantastic roof lines, perched on a lot overlooking the golf course. One of the prettiest homes I could recall with a style that was so unique for this area. And no other house in the neighborhood looked the same, actually different designs on every house, all beautiful and original, again unheard of in most new neighborhoods, nothing cookie cutter about this neighborhood! I had to bring my wife the next day.

I mentioned to Karen that I wanted to show her a neighborhood but I didn't tell her where. We packed up our two young boys and headed out for a scenic drive, destination Sterling. Karen thought we were going to the club when I passed the entrance and made the next right on Sandy Ridge Road. I never mentioned the model home to her but I wanted to see if she would have a similar reaction herself. The house immediately caught her eye. She asked me to pull into the driveway and we did the typical "peak" in the windows, walk around the yard, and then we made eye contact with each other and we just smiled . To say something was meant to be is hard to explain but this house was as close to that as you would ever have imagined for us. We immediately called Holly Plante from the sign on the front yard and left a message for her in great excitement to get an appointment to see the house. As luck would have it, they were planning an open house the next day.

I tell this story because people still can't believe that we didn't shop around for a year in buying a new home. Although this is our fifth home, we just knew this was where we wanted to live. We went to the open house the next day. As we walked into the home, the wood floor didn't creak. That may sound a little crazy to notice but in our last home, every step we would take our wood floor creaked. And this was the first indication of what turned out to be what I now consider to the finest quality built home I have ever been in. Inside and out, you name it, no corners were cut, solid inside and out. Granite counter tops, hardwood everywhere, Anderson windows throughout, high efficiency furnaces, air conditioning, Kohler fixtures, tile bathrooms, beautiful landscaping, irrigation system, and the list goes on and on. And the floor design was so open and wonderful, the house just flowed from one room to the next. We stayed in the house for almost two hours, I guess it was obvious to Holly that we were very excited. We certainly asked many many questions and she was so courteous and helpful in everything we discussed, she really understood our needs and took time with everything we needed to talk about. When my wife whispered to me while we stood in the master bathroom later that day "I want this house", I knew that we would be the newest residents of Sandy Ridge.

And here we are six months later, absolutely loving our new home and the wonderful families with whom we share this fantastic new neighborhood. Curt Plante is a builder's builder. He is not a guy that sits in an office and calls the shots from behind his desk. He is out here every day, hands on, working with his professional crew and making sure the job is done right. Every small detail, every situation we have called him for, he responds. Absolutely the most action-oriented person I have ever dealt with and our experience with Curt has only been first class for my wife and I. We consider Curt and Holly not just our builder and realtor, but true friends and we look forward to our future here at Sandy Ridge.

Having moved six times prior to 2001, my husband Todd and I consider ourselves old hats at the experience. Finding a realtor, meeting with the movers, changing the name on the utilities - these are all tasks that we're accustomed to doing. However, in all of our moves, we had never built a new home. So when Todd accepted a position with his company that would bring us to Massachusetts (for the second time), we found ourselves in familiar waters. That is, until we found ourselves living in western Canada and negotiating to build a home in Massachusetts. We didn't know what to expect.

Our experience with Curt Plante Construction was truly wonderful, from start to finish. Our initial meeting with Curt and Holly set the tone. We would have open lines of communication, trust and respect for each other. In retrospect, we truly feel that every decision made by Curt and his team embodied these ideals.

We absolutely love our home. From the framing to the finish work, we watched our home be built with care and consideration. Curt took each question we had seriously, never belittling our ignorance of the process. He explained everything clearly and made sure that we understood what was being done and why. He wanted us to love our home as much as we wanted to, if not more! His commitment to quality and his customer was always evident.

Holly Plante was a joy to work with. While Curt knows construction, Holly understands what are referred to as customer intimacy and relations. Todd and I often wondered how Holly accomplished anything else during the day, other than helping us. She was available 24/7, whenever a question arose, a selection needed to be made or clarified. Always upbeat, but entirely professional, Holly patiently connected us with vendors to make our selections. She kept us on schedule so that our home would be completed on time. She kept us informed and, most important, sane.

We had very pleasant experiences with all the vendors. They advised us on the pros and cons of each selection, material and the like. Special kudos to Dagmar (lighting), Dusty (cabinets) and Ed (plumbing). They were extremely helpful and pleasant through our selection process.

A word or two should also be said about the subcontractors and Curt's and Brad's employees. As a stay-at-home mom, I watched the house being built and now I'm home on Sandy Ridge Road most of the day. The men that work on the Sandy Ridge Road development are gems. They are friendly and polite. Not once has one failed to give me a wave and a smile when I drive by. Though we'd be happy to have a quality home alone, the added bonus of having such a quality team in the neighborhood is a blessing.

In the end, we believe our positive home building experience did not just happen. Curt Plante takes a tremendous amount of pride in his work and that of his team. He is on the street night and day, working to make our home and neighborhood desirable. His commitment to us and our neighborhood was clearly a goal of his at our initial meeting. We're thrilled that Curt has come through for us and the Sandy Ridge Road neighborhood. We love our home, we love our street, and we're so grateful to Curt and Holly for the wonderful experience in the building of our first home.
